BOOKS AND BLOGGING PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy is defined as a theory underlying or regarding a sphere of activity or thought. Well, my theory is if I can add at least 10 new books to my Wishlist and move at least 5 older Wishlist selections to my TBR list every month, then life is a ice cream sundae. And if I can find those 10 books from at least 5 new blogs each month then that's the cherry on top.

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!

NEW VISITORS AND OLD- WELCOME!
Well, I've made it almost 5 years now, so for better or worse, I continue on. I tend to blog in spurts as the urge to be creative erupts. As I don't have an artistic bone in my body, you will see very few changes in the layouts. Hey, I'm a reader not an artist like so many of the awesome bloggers I follow. I know you don't always have the time but if you stopped and looked, take a half a minute and say your piece. Recommend a book that you have enjoyed or hated for that matter. Thank you to all who visit.
Oh, and I moved my Google Friend Connect info and share this buttons to the top, as without our friends, who are we?

'Tis the night before Christmas and all through the house is the presence of one wickedly hot cowboy who's come to stay for the holiday. Fiona Logan is downright shocked to return to her childhood home and find that the tall blond stranger who came to her rescue on an icy road will be sleeping just across the hall from her bedroom. Talk about temptation…

Jud Dawson never believed the Lucky Penny Ranch would live up to its name until now. Fiona is gorgeous, smart, funny, and everything he thought he'd never find. Now all he has to do is convince her to stick around town instead of hightailing it back to Houston. But with wild weather, nosy neighbors, and a new baby in the family, getting her to admit that she's falling in love might just take a Christmas miracle.

"Jud with his slow, Texas drawl is one sexy cowboy who will have readers falling in love with him. His romantic connection with Fiona sizzles. Brown's modern storytelling and fun-filled plot will engage readers and wrap them up in this sweet, Southern holiday romance."

Q&A
Good mornin’ to all y’all. I’m so glad to be here at your site to answer a few questions about Merry Cowboy Christmas, my newest cowboy book and my favorite holiday book that I’ve written to date.

1) Tell us a little about yourself?
I’d much rather talk about my three kids or my yard full of grandchildren but since you asked about me, I’ll do my best. I’m a wife, a mother, a grandmother and even a great grandmother. Note: I got married very, very young! I sold my first books—two in one day—19 years ago and Merry Cowboy Christmas is my 80th published book. My grandmother said if you love what you do, no matter if it is digging ditches or acting as the President of the USA, then you are a success. With that in mind, I’m a big success because I love what I do.

2) When and how did the idea for "MERRY COWBOY CHRISTMAS"
come about?
Well, it all started with Fiona confided in her sister about her divorce. And I already knew that Jud was coming to Dry Creek. I just knew in my heart if I put them together with the magic of Christmas in the air, that they’d be good for each other.

3) What was your favorite part about writing the book and is there a character you had the most fun with?
I’ve loved working with Fiona’s grandmother Irene. She has her lucid moments but even in her muddled dementia state she is a character after my own heart. She’s one of those old gals who speaks her mind and does exactly what she wants.

4) If you found a genie, what would be your three wishes?
OMGoodness! Should I wish for world peace or that I would magically drop twenty pounds without it being for sickness? Or maybe I should wish for a lifetime of happiness for all three of my children. Or perhaps that I could meet my writing goals—to make it to the #1 New York Times slot, to have a movie made of one of my books, to win a RITA? I think maybe I’d just talk to the genie for a while and see how many stories he could give me.

5) Was there a specific part in the book that you had an especially difficult time writing?  If so, why?
The end was difficult for me in Merry Cowboy Christmas. I had such a good time writing the book that I could hardly make myself writing the final chapter because then the fun would be over, but then I remembered that I could visit Fiona and Jud again in Wicked Cowboy Charm (Jan. 31, 2017) when I found the right woman for Deke.
Yeap! that's the worst thing about finishing one of Carolyn Brown's awesome books, you're at the end. The best thing? the knowledge that there will be another one in less than 6 months!
